Reason is not that they’re open back. Reason is those are studio headphones that let you listen to every detail of the sound. They are made for audio editors. This gear doesn’t make your stuff sound nice. This gear lets you evaluate your sound. This is working gear for specialists.
I got a pair of newer hx headphones and some newer Astro a20s but I still prefer my hx headphones because they sound so much better
the hifiman sundaras do require a DAC amp since theyre planar magnetic so it would cost even more and the beyerdynamic dont

Most streamers switched tot he more high end version of the dt 990s tho which is the 1990 pro. Has insane build quality considering its metal and hot swappable ear pads

tried these. the highs can be pretty harsh. I think its just marketing tbh and mindless consumers.

They do all the same thing they copy eachother there is no difference anymore and everyone is a copy of a copy of a copy and the internet is actually dead there’s nothing more that could be done
I use the DT 770 Limited’s and I absolutely love them
So if your still looking for headphones that have these comfortable muffs I would suggest the da 770 pro the name sounds different cause their from the same company but they are amazing and are better than the 990s

The sundara isn’t ideal for gaming as the center imaging is pretty bad which means you’re gonna have issues determining enemies positions when they are in front of you. Good headphones, just not for gaming unless you don’t care about competitive gaming.

Guys. If you don’t care about the fact that it looks super premium or you can hear u talk. Hear me out. Buy a pair of 40€ headphones. Equalize them properly and it is pretty good (for the price)

i have a pair of arctic nova 7p which are really comfortable with a built in microphone and also a second volume wheel which allows you to hear yourself talk

The felling of talking to myself and trying to say something without being interrupted by myself doesn’t sound pleasing I’m PASSING on these
are they worth it because they are wired and ion really like that
I bought a MSI headset recently and I absolutely hate its feel, my go to feel is the corsair HS60 pro, the issue is they don’t sell these anymore I don’t think. and I’m afraid of buying the new ones from corsair in this series. which sucks since I want a pair of headphones that last many many years. touch the head but NOT the ears themselves as its SUPER uncomfortable if anything hits my ears. they also must be really soft.
Me using a cheap ahh can be broken like an iphone with my mic broke but still work and sweat headphones:
i have a blackshark v2 and it has this feature on the razer app called sidetone so i can hear myself through my mic really clearly
A headset I see many people use (me included) is the HyperX Cloud IIs. They sound great, have punchy bass, and have a little usb remote that gives your headset virtual 7.1 surround sound. though it makes the mic sound mid compared to using the 3.5mm headphone right into the PC.
Never tried the DT990 but I really like my Philips SHP9500. So comfortable compared to these garbage Arctis Nova Pro Wireless headphones I just got and am super disappointed with.
